GIVE THE GIFT OF HOPE. TRANSFORM A LIFE
FADVA is a U.S. 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that focuses on eradicating child marriages and domestic violence against women in Africa, by empowering women to be self sufficient and providing resources for long term economic and emotional stability

About Us
Bringing people together to end domestic violence for good.
We connect people around the world in the fight to end gender - based violence. Working together, we invest in the lives of women, build the healthy environments they need to thrive, and empower them to create lasting change in their own lives and communities.

Child marriage is a human rights violation taking place on a vast scale in West and Central Africa which disproportionately affects girls. Girls who marry young often drop out of school and face physical risks, especially during pregnancy. Due to the social, health and economic impacts of child marriage, the practice is a major obstacle to sustainable development.
Six of the world’s 10 countries with the highest rates of child marriage are in West and Central Africa. Average prevalence across the region remains high: about 41 percent of girls marrying before reaching the age of 18.
Rapid growth of the child population in African countries makes it increasingly urgent that countries accelerate their efforts to address child marriage. Ending child marriage is essential to give millions of adolescent girls the opportunity to realize their full potential, while improving maternal and child health.
Child Marriage

Most of the countries we serve have little to no laws aimed at protecting women and girls. With the world being so united in denouncing violence against women over the recent years, progress remains elusive for women across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Originally founded in 2007 as a support group for women, FADVA now operates in 37 countries across the continent, offering a broad range of programs aimed at improving the quality of life for women and girls in underrepresented communities.
Advocacy

Supporting adolescent girls at risk of, or affected by, child marriage to stay in school through the lower secondary cycle and acquire life skills, enabling them to make choices and exercise their rights.
Promoting community dialogue and social mobilization to ensure that households demonstrate positive attitudes and behaviors toward investing in and supporting adolescent girls.
Supporting health, education and other relevant systems to deliver quality, cost-effective services that meet the needs of adolescent girls.
Advocating in favor of national laws, policy frameworks and mechanisms to protect and promote adolescent girls’ rights, ensure that they are aligned with international standards and that adequate resources are available to carry them out.
Assisting governments and partners to support the generation and use of robust data and evidence to inform policy and programming, track progress and document lessons.
Our Approach
NOW MORE THAN EVER, WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
Over the years, each and everyone of you who has supported us either through donations or volunteering, has played a pivotal role in a woman's life who otherwise might have been another sad statistic. We are extremely appreciative of everything and promise to keep working hard to put an end to violence against women around the world.
This women's day, we are launching our biggest campaign ever; which will unlock newer heights in reporting and responding to domestic violence and child marriages. Our goal is to establish a reporting hotline across all 54 countries, dedicated entirely for reporting and responding to domestic violence calls.
Each location will be staffed 24 hours, 7 days a week and equipped with resources for responding and transporting women away from their abusers. But none of this will be possible without you. That's why we are asking for your support to help us reach our project goal of $380,000.00 to make all this possible.
